Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 August 2026
The short version. Nothing you say, write or film is ever uploaded. Your scripts and any recordings you make stay in folders on your Mac. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking. OnScript connects to the internet for exactly three things, all listed below.
This policy explains what OnScript (“the app”) does with your information. It is published by Total Packaging Solutions, Site No. 5D, First Phase, Jigani Industrial Area, Bangalore 560105, India. If anything here is unclear, write to support@useonscript.com.
What stays on your Mac
These never leave your computer, and we never receive them:
- Your voice. Speech recognition runs entirely on your Mac using a model downloaded to it. Audio is processed as you speak, and is never written to disk or transmitted — unless you start a recording, in which case it is saved to a file on your Mac, in a folder you choose. Even then it goes nowhere else.
- Your scripts. Everything you write is stored as ordinary text files in your own Application Support folder, along with any saved versions.
- Your licence and trial status, stored in the macOS keychain. Licences are verified on your Mac using cryptography, not by contacting a server.
- Your settings, including which microphone and display you use.
We have no ability to read any of this. There is no account to sign into, and no copy of your data exists anywhere but your Mac.
What the app connects to
OnScript makes network requests in three situations, and no others.
1. Downloading the speech model
The first time you set the app up, it downloads the speech model it needs. This request goes to huggingface.co, which will see your IP address as it would for any download. Nothing about you or your scripts is included. After the download the app works with no internet connection at all.
2. Checking for updates
The app checks https://useonscript.com/appcast.xml for a newer version, by default once a day. This request reveals your IP address, the app version you are running and your macOS version. It contains nothing else, and no identifier that distinguishes you from any other person running the app. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings → Updates.
3. Writing a draft with AI (only if you choose to)
OnScript can draft a script for you. This feature is off until you add your own OpenAI API key, and it only runs when you ask for a draft.
When you do, the text of your prompt and, if you are revising, the current script, are sent to OpenAI directly from your Mac using your own key and account. That data is handled under OpenAI’s terms and privacy policy, not ours — we never see it and it does not pass through any server of ours. If you never add a key, nothing is ever sent.
What we do not do
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage statistics.
- No advertising, and no sharing or selling of anything to anybody.
- No cookies or tracking on this website beyond what is needed to serve the pages.
- No profiles, no accounts, no email list you are added to by buying.
Buying OnScript
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not see or store your card details at any point — Razorpay handles them under its own privacy policy. What reaches us is the information needed to issue and support your licence: your email address, an order reference and the amount paid.
We keep that record for as long as needed to support the licence and to meet tax and accounting obligations, then delete it.
Permissions the app asks for
- Microphone. Required to follow your voice. macOS asks before granting it, and you can withdraw it at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Audio is used only in the moment and never stored.
- Camera. Optional, and only asked for the first time you open the camera preview. The video is drawn on your screen and, if you start a recording, written to a file on your Mac in a folder you choose. It is never transmitted. If you never open the preview, the app never asks.
Your rights
Because we hold so little, most data requests answer themselves: your scripts and recordings are yours and already in your possession. For the purchase record we do hold, you can ask us to send you a copy or delete it, subject to the tax records we are required to keep. Write to support@useonscript.com and we will respond within 30 days.
To remove everything the app has stored locally, delete the app along with the OnScript folder in ~/Library/Application Support.
Children
OnScript is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new date, and the change will be noted in the app’s release notes. Continuing to use the app after that means accepting the revised policy.
