Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Total Packaging Solutions, Site No. 5D, First Phase, Jigani Industrial Area, Bangalore 560105, India (“we”, “us”) covering OnScript for macOS (“the app”). Downloading, trying or buying the app means you accept them.

1. The trial

The app is free to use for three days from first use. No payment details are required.

When the trial ends, only voice following stops. Your scripts, folders, saved versions, editing and AI drafting all keep working, and everything you have written stays on your Mac and remains yours. We may issue codes that extend a trial; those are a courtesy and can be limited or withdrawn.

2. Your licence

When you buy OnScript, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it on the number of Macs stated on your licence — one unless it says otherwise. A licence is issued to a named email address and is for you or your organisation, not for sharing.

A licence runs for one year from the day you buy it, and covers every update we publish in that year.

When it lapses, only voice following stops, exactly as at the end of the trial. The app keeps opening, your scripts, folders, saved versions and recordings stay where they are, and you can still write, edit and export. Renewing restores voice following.

Nothing renews automatically. We do not store your card and we cannot charge you again without you buying a new licence.

What you may not do

• Resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app or your licence.
• Share your licence key publicly or with people outside your licence.
• Remove or alter licensing, attribution or copyright notices.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code, except where law expressly permits it despite this restriction.

We may revoke a licence obtained by fraud, chargeback, or shared in breach of these terms. We will contact you first wherever it is reasonable to do so.

3. Payment and refunds

Prices are shown at checkout and payments are processed by Razorpay. A licence is a single payment covering one year. It does not renew automatically and there is no recurring charge — when the year is up, you choose whether to buy another.

If the app does not do what you expected, email support@useonscript.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. Our full refund policy spells out the timings. We would rather refund you than have you own something you do not use. Nothing here limits any statutory refund right you have where you live.

4. What the app needs to work

OnScript requires macOS 14 or later on an Apple silicon Mac, microphone access, and roughly 226 MB to 613 MB of disk space for the speech model it downloads on first run. It is your responsibility to check that your Mac meets these before buying; they are stated on the download page.

5. Writing with AI

The AI drafting feature requires your own OpenAI API key. When you use it, your prompt and current script are sent from your Mac to OpenAI under your own account.

• Any charges OpenAI bills for that usage are yours, not ours.
• Your use of OpenAI is governed by OpenAI’s terms, and you are responsible for complying with them.
• We do not control, review or warrant what the model produces. Check anything before you say it on camera.
• We may change or remove this feature if the underlying service changes.

6. Updates

The app can check for and install updates. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings. We may change, add or remove features over time; we will not deliberately remove something central to what you paid for.

7. Your content

Your scripts are yours. We claim no rights over anything you write, and we have no access to it. You are responsible for what you write and read aloud, including making sure you have the right to use it.

8. Third-party components

OnScript includes open source software, with thanks:

• FluidAudio, licensed under the Apache License 2.0.
• Sparkle, used for updates, under the MIT licence.
• Speech recognition model weights, used under their respective licences.

Full licence texts are included with the app. Those components are provided by their authors under their own terms, not ours.

9. No warranty

The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that speech recognition will be accurate, that the app will run without interruption, or that it will suit any particular recording setup. Recognition quality depends on your microphone, accent, background noise and script.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost recordings, lost time, lost revenue or a missed shoot. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death, personal injury or fraud, and nothing limits your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

11. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may end this licence if you materially breach these terms and do not put it right within 14 days of us asking. Sections 7 through 12 survive.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bangalore have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law entitles you to bring a claim where you live.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version always lives at this address with its date. Changes apply to purchases made after they are posted; they do not retroactively change the licence you already bought.
